As TRT marketing becomes more aggressive and ‘in your face’, you can expect more and more people to hop on to anabolic steroids.
We aren’t talking about the widely promoted ‘fountain of youth’ injection or patch once a week.
Chances are, that once you get a taste of the forbidden, you might be more willing to go to the distance and try more compounds or higher doses.
‘B&C’ or Blasting and Cruising as it is called, seems to have captured the fancy of the aging population.
Despite making it sound like something fun and safe, being year round on anabolic steroids is neither safe nor fun. Particularly as you are rushing towards prostate problems in your sunset years.
Instead, you might want to try Ostarine, a SARM that looks extremely promising as it enters Phase III of human clinical trials.
Ostarine or MK2866 or Ostabolic is a very effective compound. Not as harsh as some of its siblings. Yet effective enough to keep even the most seasoned athlete interested.
Here are five reasons why you might want to give this a shot before you hop on the steroid bandwagon.
#1 – Ostarine mimics Testosterone
Ostarine or MK2866 is a SARM or ‘Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator’ that mimics the action of testosterone in the human body.
This means, that it increases lean muscle mass, enhances libido, boosts strength, reduces fat and improves the quality of life.
However, the keyword here is ‘selective’. Testosterone, despite having all these favorable qualities would also cause a bevy of dose-dependent side effects.
It would be extremely harsh on your lipids, considerably reducing HDL while increasing LDL and triglycerides. It would also be severe on your cardiac health.
Lastly, MK-2866 would also cause androgenic effects like increased body hair and balding. Not to mention that you’d have to constantly keep an eye on your prostate health markers.
Ostarine does not cause androgenic side effects. It selectively works on the receptors in bone and muscle tissue. This means that it does not cause any negative effect on your prostate health.
#2 – Ostarine does not cause gynecomastia
One of the biggest challenges (and dreads) that athletes and bodybuilders have while using anabolic androgenic hormones is the ever existing risk of gynecomastia.
Gynecomastia occurs when the body tries to compensate for the excessive testosterone by converting some of it into estrogen. The conversion usually occurs via the aromatase enzyme.
Some other steroids may not convert via the aromatase enzyme. But they have a strong progestin nature which again, poses the risk of gyno.
Ostarine does not aromatize. Nor does it have a strong progestin nature. This means that there is no risk of it causing gynecomastia.
This in turn means that you do not have to use an Aromatase Inhibitor drug during your cycle. Nor a SERM to prevent estrogen increase in your body.
#3 – Ostarine is clinically proven to increase Lean Body Mass and strength
As one of the only SARMS to have made it to Phase II of human clinical trials, Ostarine has proven to be remarkably effective in increasing lean body mass.
There are multiple studies to prove this.
The first one was conducted in cancer patients to analyze the effect of the compound on cachexia, or muscle wasting caused due to cancer. Ostarine administration increased lean body mass, stair climbing strength and speed in patients.
There were two groups. One group was administered 1mg Ostarine while the second one was administered 3mg Ostarine.
The results were very positive with no serious adverse effects related to the drug.
The second clinical study was conducted in aging men and women. The results were phenomenal to say the least.
The test groups gained up to 1.4kg of lean body mass during the period.
#4 – MK-2866 can work well with TRT
The thing with TRT is that while the dose is enough to restore your quality of life, it’s not enough to give you performance enhancement grade results.
If you work out or are looking for a leaner and stronger physique that’s vascular, the only option that you are left with is to increase the dose or add more compounds to the stack.
Both these options will lead to serious side effects, the risks of which keep increasing as you age.
Ostarine can be the perfect adjunct to TRT. By mimicking testosterone, it will add to the positive effects of the hormone. At the same time, it does not affect your prostate health or your lipids.
Also, any mild suppression that is caused due to Ostarine wont effect you as you are already on Test.
#5 – MK-2866 may help with recovery
Athletes who were veering towards Deca Durabolin to speed up their recovery process can now try Ostabolic instead.
Anecdotal incidents point towards enhanced muscle recovery after prolonged injury or illness with Ostabolic.
Users report that they were able to hit the gym a lot sooner with no signs of pain, even after serious conditions like rotator cuff tears had left them unable to lift.
#6 – MK-2866 helps with body recomposition
MK-2866 is not the compound that’s going to turn you into Conan the Barbarian. Instead, it can increase lean mass and vascularity while reducing body fat.
Just enough to keep most athletes and fitness buffs interested.
Muscles appear fuller and tighter. The veins start to pop out. Nothing crazy mind you. But noticeable.
Add it to a calorie deficit stack and it will help you retain muscle while burning fat. Add it to a bulking phase and it will keep the waistline trim.
Any athlete or natty bodybuilder who’s looking to wet their toes in steroids might want to consider trying Ostarine before they take the plunge.
Despite what you might have read or may be trying to convince yourself, steroids are a lifetime thing. There’s no looking back after that first pin.
Maybe you can get the results that you seek with MK-2866, which is milder and safer.
Don’t believe in fear mongering. There’s not one clinical study that has reported adverse effects with Ostarine except for mild testosterone suppression.
The only thing that you need to be wary of, is buying from a legitimate source.
